When typing a foreign word in Kinaesethic Mode or in a Test, you’ll know how to type an accented or foreign character using the Standard Microsoft Shortcut keystrokes. You'll also know that holding down the right-mouse key will list the keystroke if you’re having difficulty remembering a shortcut combination.
But what if you want to type an accented or foreign character in your Student Notes? These Shortcuts don't work there! There is a way around this problem, but you need to learn Ascii codes to be able to type an accented character in Student Notes.
This method works in Word, Excel and Outlook and in lots of other Programs as well, so it’s easy to type foreign character in emails, provided you have the Rich Text mode ticked in the Format Menu.
If you’ve a laptop, then you’ve no separate numeric keypad but check your manufacturer’s instructions - you should find that there’s a key combination to press that allows you to use the numeral keys in this manner.
