Spanish Verb RECORDAR: to remember

The Spanish verb recordar means 'to remember ' and is an irregular Spanish AR verb.

To remember this, imagine to remember things it is useful to RECORD them on a RECORDER!

Recordar changes the stem in the Present, Present Subjunctive and Imperative tenses.
During December a new irregular -AR verb is featured each day to enable you to consolidate an irregular AR verb family. You will learn other verbs with similar patterns such as acostar, encontrar, recordar, probar, and others.

I find that the fastest and easiest way to learn and REMEMBER new Spanish words is with memory trigger cartoon pictures. It makes them harder to forget.

recordar can also mean: to recall.
recordarle a alguien/algo que + subjunctive: to remind someone about something.
recordarse de algo/alguien (vr): to remember something /someone.

el recuerdo (nm): memory; souvenir, memento, heirloom.
los recuerdos (nmpl): regards, greetings; best wishes.
darle recuerdos: to give/pass on regards/greetings.

No me recuerdo: I don't remember.
Si mal no recuerdo: If' i remember rightly.
Siempre me recuerdo a los tiempos viejos: I always remember the old times (days).

vos replaces tú - you, informal, singular -
- in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and also in some countries of Central America.
Sometimes it also replaces the formal singular 'Usted'.
In irregular AR verbs, the conjugations remain the same as for tú except for the addition of accents in the following tenses:
Presente: vos recordás
Imperativo: ¡recordá!

Learn to conjugate recordar and it will reinforce this irregular pattern.
