terrible students

The two people learning french on the cd's have absolutely no clue whatsoever. It's as though they are not even listening to the teacher. Especially the woman. A lot of the time her terrible pronounciation and mistakes put me off quite a bit and frustrated me alot!

The woman in the French course

I just found her to be irritating. Her under-the-breath attempts along with her triumphant-sounding outbursts grated on my nerves.

Not so terrible students

Michel was probably aware of the problem and ditched the two students for two savvy younger ones, who seemed to soak up the language like a sponge. Although, I think they betrayed some previous learning.

I didn't see the woman in his intro course as a problem though. She was probably representative of her age cohort. I gathered she must have been middle aged. And learning a language at that age is difficult as the brain has lost a lot of its lingual plasticity.

Over all, I think Michel and his students did an excellent job.
