Adjusting your Computer's
Screen Resolution

Is there a way to enlarge the print on the screen?

"I normally have my screen set at 120dpi but this does not allow me to see all of the lesson text... so I have reset my screen to 96dpi and I can read the complete lesson now but smaller print....

I have poor eyesight and would prefer to expand the whole 200 Words a Day! screen to fill my screen and have bigger printing, but still be able to read the whole lesson text... Is there a way to do this?"

Answer:

Yes, and it's not difficult to do. Depending on your operating system ...

Windows 7

  • Right-click the Desktop on a blank area and click "Screen Resolution" from the pop-up menu.
  • In the Window that opens, click "Resolution" drag the slider until it reads 1024 x 768, then click, OK.
  • Confirm this is correct.

Vista

  • Right-click the Desktop on a blank area and click "Personaliize" from the pop-up menu.
  • In the Personalise Window, click the Display Settings link, then drag the slider, until it reads 1024 x 768, then click OK.
  • You may have to confirm this is correct.

XP or earlier

  • Right-click the Desktop on a blank area and click Properties from the pop-up menu.
  • In the "Display Properties Window" click the Settings Tab (top right of screen), then drag the slider (bottom left of screen), until it reads 1024 x 768, then click OK.
  • You may have to confirm this is correct.

You can revert to the original setting once you close the 200Words a Day! program.
