Daily Verb Lesson: Italian for fall is cascare
The Italian verb for fall is the irregular -ARE verb cascare.

Cascare can also mean: to fall down, to drop, to tumble.
Related words include:
- cascarci (v) : to fall for; to swallow the bait.
- cascante (adj) : drooping, sagging, flabby.
- la cascata (nf) : cascade, waterfall.
- cascare dal sonno (v) : to be falling asleep on one' feet.
These verbs add an h after c and before e and i so as to maintain the hard 'k' sound. Note also that cercare is a verb that takes essere in the compound tenses and the past participle agrees with the subject.
